Friends of the Earth, as an outspoken leader in the environmental and progressive communities, seeks to change the perception of the public, media and policy makers--and effect policy change--with hard-hitting, well-reasoned policy analysis and advocacy campaigns that describe what needs to be done, rather than what is seen as politically feasible or politically correct. This hard-hitting advocacy has been the key to our successful campaigns over our 42-year history.

One Young World
http://www.oneyoungworld.comOne Young World is a charity that gathers together the brightest young people (aged 18 - 30) from around the world, empowering them to make lasting connections to create positive change. At the annual One Young World Summit, young leaders debate, formulate and share innovative solutions for the most pressing issues the world faces. At the 2013 Summit in Johannesburg, South Africa, 1,250 young people from 190 countries were joined by a prestigious line-up of One Young World Counsellors including: Kofi Annan, Sir Richard Branson, Arianna Huffington, Sir Bob Geldof and Professor Muhammad Yunus. After attending a Summit, delegates join the network of One Young World Ambassadors working the world over to effect positive change. They do this by founding their own initiatives or lending the power of the One Young World network to those already in existence. The next One Young World Summit takes place in Dublin, Ireland from 15-19 October 2014.

Local governments submit pre-approved projects to citizinvestor.com. The cost of the project has already been set and department approved, the only thing lacking is the funding. Citizens then find the projects they care about most and invest financially in those projects. Once a project is 100% pledged, the project is built! Citizens don’t pay a dime unless the project is funded in full. This ensures that there’s little risk to the local government entity and little risk to the citizen.

Global Changemakers

It has expanded since its inception, and is now built on three pillars: Learning, Doing and Advocacy.
